Time and time again we hear from people just like you who are fed up, frustrated, and just plain discouraged about their ability to reliably manifest abundance and create what they want in life.

One of my favorite all-time manifestation and law of attraction gurus is Bob Proctor, one of the key people from the film The Secret. When I saw and met Bob in person, in Sydney Australia in 2007, I was immediately taken by the simplicity of his message. And of course, there is no denying the results Bob Proctor has achieved — he has manifested a spectacular life.

Bob is very big on the role of visualization — Wallace Wattles referred to the process as creative visualization in his book The Science of Getting Rich — in the manifestation process.

Needless to say, Bob Proctor has been at this a long time — decades in fact — and he has pretty much got the whole visualization thing dialed in.

In the video, Bob discusses some of the most common misconceptions about visualization, and if you are at all like me, you will really be able to relate. I have made pretty much all of these mistakes as I continue my own journey exploring the Law of Attraction.

For example…

1. You make some effort to practice visualizations for a few days–, but nothing happens. So you decide it’s a waste of time and stop. And guess what? Nothing happens.
2. You think you have to spend hours every day intensely focused on the things you want most. You settle down in the Lazy Boy and have at it — and you either fall asleep, get a pounding headache, or start thinking about a problem you’re having at work. What a hassle. No wonder you’ve given up.
3. You have painstakingly glued a vision board together and you stare at it every day. You don’t want anyone to know this, but you’re bored. This whole activity is dull as dust and you don’t feel much of anything except distracted.
4. You’re not completely sure visualization will work — so you figure it’s not worth trying unless you are 100% certain something wonderful will happen. In fact, you’ve perfected “why bother” into an art form.

I sincerely hope you will find this as encouraging as I do. Even if you’re not sure visualization will work for you and result in successful manifesting … just do it!

Give it a try and see what happens. But not for just a day or two — or even for a week or two.

What you’ve got to do is make the commitment to spend a few minutes on this every single day. And I do mean EVERY DAY!

Maybe even morning and night … but just consistently make the effort. Because according to Bob (and he should know) it’s the REPETITION of your visualizations that adds up to a grand slam eventually.

He explains it all so clearly and much better than I ever could, but it has to do with the repetition creating a new “frequency”. A new vibration is slowly established that starts to change your actions and then opens the door to what you want being attracted into your life.

Make sense? You bet it does! And no worries about how to wedge it into your schedule because you don’t have to spend a lot of time on it either. Just a few minutes a day will do it IF you do it the right way.

There are many famous Albert Einstein quotes and he is one of my absolute favorite motivational quote sources. For such a brilliant man, so many of his famous quotes are decidedly simple and serve as a poignant commentary on the nature of mankind.

Persistence and perseverance are essential qualities to achieving your goals and becoming successful in life. It’s your willingness to persevere — to persist without exception — that is going to enable you to accomplish what you want to accomplish. And it’s what enables you to ultimately attract the abundance and prosperity you desperately want in your life.

You can call this trait whatever you like — persistence, perseverance, tenacity, determination, doggedness, tenaciousness, strength, or purpose — but regardless of what you call it, it is a common trait in every successful person.

One of my favorite books is The Travelers Gift by Andy Andrews. In the book, he describes what he calls the seven decisions that determine personal success. The seventh decision is this: I will persist, without exception. Successful people persist without exception. Without exception means just that. It means that you find a way when there is no way. That is when most breakthroughs occur.

What is your pattern? Do you quit at the first sign of trouble and stop moving, or do you adjust course and keep moving forward in whatever way you can with an emphasis on remaining in motion? The minute you stop, you have sealed your failure. If you never persist, you will always fail.

Exhibit enthusiasm. Enthusiasm is such a key ingredient because when the going gets tough and you are prone to become discouraged, it is your enthusiasm that will provide the energy you need to keep going. Are you bringing enthusiasm to what you want to accomplish?

Trust in your ideas. It’s been said that everyone, including you, has at least one million dollar idea. Yet few will act on the idea and far fewer still will stay with it. If you knew your idea was guaranteed to make you rich one day, for how long would you be prepared to stick with it?

Stay in motion. If you are taking a road trip and encounter a roadblock or barricade, do you look for a detour or do you turn around, go back home, and cancel the trip? You keep looking for ways around of course. And so it may mean you move slowly, but the point is you are still moving.

Master your craft. Rarely do things come easy, especially when it is a new field or subject area about which you are unfamiliar. For example, if you start a business for the first time, you will not be an instant expert at it and will certainly make some mistakes. The third and fourth tries are about learning and becoming an expert at your craft.

Stay committed. To persevere is not glamorous. When you are truly committed to a particular outcome, it is your vision of that outcome that keeps you going. At any point in time, it can be very hard work to persevere in the face of little or no apparent progress. Ask yourself, how committed to the outcome you desire are you really? Edison failed at perfecting the light bulb 2000 times! What do you suppose would have happened had he concluded it was impossible?
