Is abundance in your future, or is your life going to continue to be a struggle?
It’s a tough question to answer. It seems that no matter where you turn, there’s another story of gloom and doom that is affecting us. Whether it’s the economy, the melting ice caps, terrorism, or natural disasters … negativity abounds.
But how accurate a picture of the world do you really have?
At the same time that we are coping with these seemingly insurmountable problems, in the same breath we are living in perhaps the most peaceful time in human history, and over the last 100 years have seen expected human lifespan more than double, average income has tripled, and child mortality has dropped by a factor of 10.
That starts to paint a different picture, doesn’t it?
So which is it? Are we at one of the most dire points in human history which will lead to our destruction, or are we on the cusp of a tremendous shift and awakening that will lead to peace and abundance?
Here’s a video presentation from Peter Diamandis, author of the book Abundance: The Future Is Better Than You Think.
In this powerful 16 minute video, Diamandis offers some historical context and perspective on the state of the world today, and on the opportunities offered by our unparalleled advancement in technology.
So what’s your verdict … is abundance in your future?
As Peter Diamandis points out, the news media brings us negative news because that’s what we respond to. Given the spectacular advances in mobile technology and information processing and the 24/7 access we have to news media, it’s no wonder we are pessimistic.
The degree of scarcity we believe exists does appear to be a distortion of the truth when looked upon from a historical perspective.
Perhaps the perspective of Abundance: The Future Is Better Than You Think is the best forecast of our future after all.
