I focus on those things I can control.
Very few things in life are under my control. I am comfortable with this. In fact, I enjoy it. It means I only have a few things to focus on. I put energy and concern into those few things.
I can let go of those things that are outside of my control. A few of these things include: the weather, the opinions of others, the behavior of others, and traffic. Worrying about things outside my sphere of influence only causes stress. I choose to be free of these emotions.
Worry is an emotion that makes me less capable.
When I catch myself worrying, I ask myself if there is anything I can do to improve the situation. If the answer is no, I release my anxiety and choose to turn my focus to things that I can control.
I relax and allow life to unfold.
Focusing only on those things I can control gives me great power. I have more energy to deal with the things that I can influence. This gives me much more control over my life. I can make changes in my life more easily.
Today, I am freeing myself from pointless worry. I am placing my attention on the few things I can control. I am relaxed, enthusiastic, and hopeful.
